Honor the Name Ministries is a non-denominational Christian ministry that holds to the following convictions and beliefs.

God

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1; Genesis 3:22; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Philippians 2:6; 1 Peter 1:2)

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the only born Son of God. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, doing miracles and teaching His followers. He offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will visibly return again to earth to establish His kingdom and reign as King. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 1:14; Hebrews 4:14-15)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make us aware of our sin, the righteousness of Jesus, the coming judgment and our need for Jesus Christ. From the moment of salvation, He lives in every Christ-follower. He provides them with power for living and sharing their faith, helps them understand spiritual truth, guides them in doing God’s will and supernaturally gifts them for service. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25)

The Bible

The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. It was written by human authors who were inspired by God. It is the supreme source of all truth without any mixture of error and it is the only rule for establishing faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13)

Human Beings

Humanity is made in the image of God, to be like him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although we have tremendous potential for good, we are born sinners separated from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23)

Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God offered to everyone. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works – only by repenting of our sins and trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior can we be saved from the penalty of our sin. Salvation begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith. We are then regenerated and made new by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)

The Christian Journey

Christians should endeavor to live in a way that glorifies God and promotes the well-being of others; they should be faithful managers of their time, talent and treasure; and endeavor to mature in their walk with Christ; becoming more and more like Him. (Matthew 5:43-48; Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:17-24; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 Peter 2:9; 1 John 1:7)
